Title
Myers Flat Permanent Restoration Project
Description
Caltrans proposes a permanent restoration project on SR 254, from post mile (PM) 4.36 to 4.62, in Humboldt County. The project would stabilize the existing highway facility, largely returning the roadway to conditions that existed prior to failure, resulting in the failure being declared as a federally declared disaster event in 2017. The road and slope at this location would be stabilized with a soldier pile ground anchor (SPGA) wall and drainage improvements, including culvert replacement at PM 4.49 using rock energy dissipation at the outlet of the culvert. The southbound shoulder would be widened to 8 feet and Midwest Guardrail System would be installed at the ends of the SPGA wall. Additional work includes pavement overlay. Permanent stormwater treatment is incorporated.
