California's 2022 Climate Change Scoping Plan Recirculated Draft EA

Description

Approval of the 2022 Scoping Plan, developed by the California Air Resources Board (CARB), would achieve carbon neutrality by 2045 through a substantial reduction in fossil fuel dependence, while at the same time increasing deployment of efficient non-combustion technologies and distribution of clean energy. The plan would also reduce emissions of short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) and includes mechanical carbon dioxide (CO2) removal and carbon capture and sequestration actions, as well as natural working lands management and nature-based strategies. CARB prepared a Recirculated Draft EA under the requirements of its certified regulatory program to comply with the California Environmental Quality Act. The Recirculated Draft EA assesses the potential for significant adverse and beneficial environmental impacts associated with reasonably foreseeable actions taken in response to implementation of the 2022 Scoping Plan.
