Quincy Wildfire Protection Project - SNC 1317

Description

The Sierra Nevada Conservancy (SNC) would provide funding to the Plumas County Fire Safe Council for hazardous fuel reduction activities on at least 151 acres of privately owned land southwest of Quincy, California. Fuel treatments would include manual and mechanical thinning, mastication, and chipping. Hand thinning would be used on slopes too steep for mechanical equipment and chips would be removed from project area for utilization. The intent of the project is to reduce risks from wildfire to the community and its critical infrastructure, as well as create a forest structure resilient to the effects of fire.
