Title: Secondary Treatment Upgrades
Description: The Project will expand the capacity of conventional activated sludge in the four existing aeration tanks and six existing secondary clarifiers through 2054 with an membrane aerated biofilm reactor (MABR)-activated sludge process, which would provide additional capacity in the existing aeration tanks by intensifying the process so no new aeration tank volume would be required. The Project also includes MABR cassettes installed in the second and third anoxic zones, and one set of internal mixed liquor recycle pumps would be to expand capacity through 2054. Each of these components would be located in the four existing aeration tanks.
