Title: Better Market Street Project
Description: San Francisco Public Works, in coordination with the the San Francisco Planning Department, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC), and the San Francisco County Transportation Authority (SFCTA), proposes to make Market Street safer and more efficient for all modes of transportation by reducing conflicts between transit, paratransit, taxis, commercial vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians. The proposed project would introduce changes to the roadway configuration, traffic signals, surface transit (including San Francisco Municipal Railway (Muni-) only lanes, stop spacing and service, stop locations, stop characteristics, and infrastructure), bicycle facilities, pedestrian facilities, streetscape, commercial and passenger loading, vehicular parking, and utilities.
