Title
Antone Dam Removal and Meadow Restoration Project
Description
Remove the compromised concrete Antone Dam (approx. 60' long, 2' wide, and 4' tall) from across Burton Creek at Burton Creek State Park to restore geomorphic function and form to the meadow and channel. Construct a step pool boulder structure to recreate the natural valley grade break and control water at existing levels (to ensure the meadow upstream is neither saturated or drowned). Reconstruct the floodplain and channel and revegetate with native vegetation. Recontour the berm located upstream of the dam to original meadow surface elevation; cut, chip, and remove trees on said berm; and restore the meadow with a series of grade control features and native vegetation. Construct (then restore) temporary short roads and staging area to access both sides of the project area. Take all excess debris to landfill for disposal.
