Title
Hopper Creek Routine Maintenance Project (Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600- . 2018-0255 -R5)
Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2018-0255-RS, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to DCOR LLC-Hopper Canyon represented by Jay Rao. The Project is the routine maintenance of the access road, also known as Hopper Canyon Road within DCOR facility. The access road crosses Hopper Creek thirteen times via at-grade crossings. Each of these crossings needs to be maintained free of sediment, boulders, minor vegetation that has encroached into the access road, and any other debris that may wash downstream during storm events. No large, mature trees would be removed during maintenance activities. Sediment that is removed along the road may be used to re-establish any damaged grade along perimeters of a crossing. Additional activities that may be necessary after large storms include re countering the access road, minor bank stabilization,.storm-related vegetation removal, and re-establishing streambanks. Maintenance activities would be performed using hand tools such as shovels and trimmers. If necessary, a small backhoe may be used to remove boulders. The crossings are maintained on average 1-2 times on a normal rain year.
