- Description
- Draft Order R1-2019-0001 proposes Draft General Waste Discharge Requirements on dairies and related land management activities in the North Coast Region. The Draft GWDR permit covers the management of process water, manure, and other organic materials at dairies including the application of such materials to land. The GWDR also covers the discharge of wastes and water quality impacts from owned or leased dairy cattle grazing lands and dairy croplands that have the potential to discharge wastes to surface water and groundwater. The Draft GWDR proposes one consistent order for continuous permit coverage of all dairies that meet water quality protection requirements including existing, new, expanding, and re-opening dairies and goat/sheep/water buffalo dairies.
