Title
Siskiyou Cascade Timber Emergency (Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2018-0278-R1) for 2-18EM-028-SIS
Description
This project is limited to one worked ford watercourse crossing. A Class III watercourse has been impacted by an upslope stream diversion that misdirected stream-flow into this small seasonal stream during a recent food event. This resulted in significant down-cutting of the channel (3-5' deep) all the way down to the Scott River. This debris torrent plugged the existing culvert on a logging access road, which over-topped and washed out the crossing. The upslope diversion has since been repaired. This crossing shall be reconstructed in order to stabilize the fill slope of the existing road. A key way shall be excavated at the base of the fill slope of road and 4' - 5' diameter rock shall be placed to serve as an anchor for the base of the rocked crossing. The crossing shall be constructed of 2'-4' diameter rocked with smaller 12"+ rock utilized as fill between the larger rocks. The inlet shall be armored with 2'-3' diameter rock. Both of the approaches to the crossing shall be sloped (dipped) towards the center of the crossing in order to prevent potential diversion of the watercourse. Rock running surface with 6" + rock for 15' on either side of the crossing, or to the point where overland flow down the road is disconnected from the crossing by a rolling dip or change in grade.
