Title: Gilman Springs Mine (Surface Mining Permit No. 159, Revisions No. 2
Description: The proposed project consists of an expansion to the existing aggregate mining site in areas permitted for mining by 54.4 acres, resulting in approx. 204.8 acres permitted for mining activities; and an increase mining reserves from approx. 14,842,574 tons to 44,000,000 tons, representing an increase of approx. 29. 157, 426 tons. The proposal also includes ultimately facilitating the operation of an Inert Debris Engineered Fill Operation (IDEFO) to the site's reclamation; and to establish a revised reclamation in compliance with SMARA (Public Resources Code, § 2710 et seq.) and Chapter 5.48, Surface Mining Operations, of the Riverside County Code (Riverside County Code of Ordinances, 1995). Amending the Mine's timing restrictions for mining activities within 300 feet of the Mine's boundaries from between 7:00 am and 10:00 pm, Monday through Saturday except holidays, to 24 hours per day, seven days per week including Sundays and federal holidays.
