SATCO Liquid Bulk Marine Terminal and Transfer Facility
Description
SATCO is proposing to construct and operate a 3.47-acre liquid bulk receiving terminal. The site largely consists of a vacant lot bordered by San Joaquin River and other industrial Port uses. Under the proposed project, SATCO would receive sulfuric acid produced in the Asia-Pacific region and process, store, and distribute up to 200,000 tons of concentrated sulfuric acid to the western US annually, SATCO would lease the terminal from the Port for a term of 10 years with three 10-year options for renewal. Liquid bulk carriers would ship sulfuric acid to the Port, and processed product would be shipped to various locations in northern CA and the western US by both rail and truck.
