Description

The Tribe seeks to transfer 5.64 acres of land into federal trust for construction of a health clinic, safe house and elder housing. The specific intended uses are as follows: The Ray and Ironwood Properties would be used to access adjacent trust land (Lopez Property) which as 6 dwelling units (2 single family homes and 2 duplexes) for elders. The existing single-family home located on the Ray property will be retained. Future build out for the Ray and Ironwood properties would also include 8-12 dwelling units (single-family and duplexes). The North 40 Property will be used to develop a tribal health clinic. Approximately 10,000 sf of space would be provided for the Tribe's existing and expanding health care program (Howonquet Health Center). A 2,500 sf safe house for the Tribes Family Violence Prevention Services would be developed adjacent to the existing health clinic.
