Three Critically Improtant Conservation Actions to Recover Sierra Nevada Yellow-legged Frogs in the Northern Sierra Nevadea
Description
Non-native brook trout will be removed from island Lake and perennial tributaries using monofliament gill nets and backpack electrofishers. Translocations of Sierra Nevada yellowlegged frogs (frogs) will occur as part of two separate projects: 1) from Highland Lake to the Q Lakes and; 2) from Pyramid Lake and Rivendell Pond to Jabu, Lucille and Cagwin Lakes in Desolaion Valley. Frogs wil be transported on foot using backpacks and small containers. Work will be implemented by CDFW and sub-contracted University of CA Santa Barbara (UCSB) field crews during the summer months of 2017, 2018 and 2019.
