Title
Selby Slag Remediation Project
Description
Note: Extended Review per lead The site is the location of a former smelting facility. During the smelting operations, slag was deposited on the site in the upland and the Bay tideland areas. Seven metals have been identified as chemicals of potential concern at the site; antimony, arsenic, cadmium, copper, lead, nickel, and zinc. The project is intended to protect human health and the environment through management of slag to prevent human exposure to the COPCs, prevent discharge of the COPCs into the Bay, and prevent the COPCs from leaching to groundwater. A remedial action plan is being prepared to address the contamination at the site.
