Title
Lake Ranch Reservoir Outlet Works Improvements
Description
In accordance with the requirements of the CA Division of Safety Dams, the project entails the rehabilitation of the San Jose Water Company's 70 million gallon Lake Ranch Reservoir and two dams located in Sanborn County Park approx. 2 miles south of the City of Saratoga. The project includes constructing siphons over both dams and grouting the existing outlet pipes. Based on DSOD's drawdown requirements, the siphon at Saratoga Dam will consist of a 12-inch high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe and at Beardsley Dam the siphon will be a 4-inch HDPE pipe. The pipes will be buried and concrete-encased where they cross over the dam abutments and will be mounted on the lake bottom with floating intakes within the reservoir. Energy dissipation rock riprap structures will be installed at the outlet at Sanborn Creek and Lyndon Canyon Creek. CDFW is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2015-0457-R3 pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Permittee, San Jose Water Company.
