Title
Heart of Fairfield Specific Plan
Description
The Heart of Fairfield Plan is a specific plan located in the city of Fairfield, encompassing the Downtown and West Texas Street neighborhoods. The Heart of Fairfield Plan covers approximately 513 acres and contains Fairfield's historic Downtown, the Solano County Government Center, the Fairfield Transportation Center regional bus and transit hub, the Suisun-Fairfield Train Station, a diverse set of land uses, and numerous amenities that serve both the local community and the wider region. The plan area is roughly bounded by I-80 on the west, the Union Pacific Railroad tracks on the east, Empire and Kentucky Streets on the north and highway 12 on the south. The plan area encompasses two neighborhoods: Downtown and West Texas St. These neighborhoods were designated as priority development areas by the Association of Bay Area Governments because of local and regional interest in encouraging infill development that can take advantage of regional transit facilities. The Fairfield Transportation Center and the Suisun-Fairfield Tran Station provide access to the Capital Corridor commuter rail service as well as the national Amtrak network.
