Kashia Band of Pomo Indians of the Stewarts Point Rancheria - APNs: 123-160-005-000

Description

The subject property consists of two parcels of land, encompassing ~480.00 acres more or less, commonly referred to as APNs: 123-160-005-000 (portion). The parcels are contiguous to the eastern boundary of the Stewarts Point Rancheria. The property was not being actively used by its prior owners and is not currently being used by the Tribe for any purpose other than analysis and protection of natural resources. It has not habitable buildings and is uninhabited. Kashia is in the process of considering results of an expert evaluation, documentation and preservation studies for the means of using the newly acquired property. Until the necessary studies are done, the land will be used only for three purposes: 1. Identify and inventory all sites and objects of environmental and cultural significance to the Tribe; 2. Enable Kashia to take all necessary steps to ensure that those sites and objects are protected; and 3. Provide to Kashia and its members access to the property for traditional uses, and for restoration of the property to its best possible condition both culturally and environmentally.
