Rosa Morada Road Bridge Replacement Project (California Endangered Species Act Incidental Take Permit (ITP) No. 2081-2021-023-04)
Description
As part of its ongoing bridge and traffic safety efforts, San Benito County has selected the Rosa Morada Bridge for replacement. The Project includes (1) roadway alignment and profile grading, (2) construction of an on-site detour, (3) removal of the existing Rosa Morada Road Bridge, (4) construction of the replacement Rosa Morada Road Bridge, (5) channel improvements, and (6) removal of existing trees. The Project will result in impacts to 1.4 acres of California tiger salamander (CTS, Ambystoma californiense) habitat including temporary impacts to 1.08 acres; the Project will permanently remove 0.32 acres of CTS habitat. The project is expected to result in incidental take of CTS, which is designated as a threatened species under the California Endangered Species Act. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation.
