Title
Hollister Avenue Bridge Replacement
Description
Replacement of the existing 4-lane Hollister Avenue Bridge with new cast-in-place post-tensioned concrete slab bridge. The new structure will clear span San Jose Creek with 80-foot transition to natural creek upstream and 210-foot transition downstream. The 68-foot long bridge will have a typical cross section of four 12 foot-wide through traffic lanes, bicycle lanes/shoulders, 10 foot-wide sidewalks and a median. The Project will convey 100-year flood flows and conform to the recently widened San Jose Creek Channel. The channel bottom will be protected by articulated concrete mats, with fish passage provision to match recently completed construction downstream. A privately owned steel bridge, 75 feet south of Hollister Avenue, will be removed toward the end of the construction period. Construction is planned between the Spring of 2016 to spring 2018.
