- Luther Pass Power and Control Project
- The South Tahoe Public Utilities District (District)'s Luther Pass Pump Station (LPPS) was orginally constructed in 1968 and has operated continuously since that time to convey treated wastewater out of the Tahoe Basin in compliance with the 1967 Porter-Cologne Water Quality Control Act. LPPS receives wastewater that has been pumped from the District's storagefacilities in A-Line to two storage tanks located at LPPS. LPPS conveys this wastewater to to the District's storage facilitieis in Alpine County by way of the B-Line and C-Line, lifting the water 1240 vertical feet over Luther Pass. At this facility a new electrical building to house switchgear, motor controllers, battery bank and SCADA control panel are necessary for continued operation.
