Title
San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) Tie-Line 637 Wood-to-Steel Replacement Project
Description
The proposed project is located in north San Diego County between the communities of Ramona and Santa Ysabel, California. The proposed project consists of fire-hardening an approximately 14-mile span of the Tie-Line (TL) 637 corridor connecting SDG&E's existing Creelman and Santa Ysabel Substations. Primary project components include the replacement of 156 existing wood tie-line support structures with fire-safe steel poles within the TL 637 right-of-way corridor, minor improvements to the Creelman and Santa Ysabel Substations, and the installation of a new fiber-optic line that would be co-located on the new TL 637 steel poles. Implementation of the proposed fire-hardening improvements would help ensure SDG&E service reliability during wildlife events and improve fire safety conditions consistent with SDG&E's Community Fire Safety Program (CFSP), County of San Diego Fire Department goals, and safety objectives of the agencies and municipalities within the SDG&E service area.
