Title: Date Palm Drive over the Whitewater River
Description: CDFW is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement (SAA # 1600-2013-0177-R6) pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, the City of Cathedral City, represented by Mr. Robert Rodriguez, City of Cathedral City, City Hall, 68-700 Avenida Lalo Guerrero, City of Cathedral City, State of California, 92234, Phone 760-774-0344. The Applicant is proposing to widen and retrofit the existing Date Palm Drive Bridge (Bridge Number 56C0189). Project activities include: rehabilitation of the existing bridge deck, widening the bridge from four lanes to six lanes within the existing right-of-way (ROW), demolition of some features (e.g. concrete barriers) of the existing structure, replacing deficient portions of the existing structure, retrofitting the structure for stabilization during seismic events, installing scour countermeasures, and adding highway safety features (e.g. sidewalks, medians, railings, and approaches). A total of 0.16 acres of permanent impacts to jurisdictional streambed and a total of 3.37 acres of temporary impacts to jurisdictional streambed will result from the construction activities.
