- Title
- Calero County Park Trails Master Plan
- Description
- The project is limited to the construction of two new park trails, the Chisnantuck Trail and Ranch San Vicente Trail. The Chisnantuck Trail will be an approximately 4.1 mile single-track, natural surface multi-use trail 5 ft in width. The trail calls for 15 rock-armored swales within mixed bay/oak woodland. The Rancho San Vicente Trail will be an approximately 4 mile single-track, natural surface multi-use trail. The trail calls for 16 rock-armored swales within annual grassland. The armored swales will be trail and drainage width to ensure the water remains in the channel, and armored throughout the trail width. No mortar will be used in construction of swales within annual grassland. The armored swales will be trail and drainage width to ensure the water remains in the channel, and armored throughout the trail width. No mortar will be used in construction of swale crossings. Swales will be armored with large rocks at the base to make up the keystone/foundation and then smaller rocks will make up the tread for multi-use passage and energy dissipation. Rocks will be sourced from nearby on each site. The drainages being crossed do not flow frequently (flow is primarily short duration during peak storm periods). The trails have been located to avoid the need to remove trees. CDFW is executing a lake and streambed alteration agreement no. 1600-2015-0384-R3 pursuant to section 1602 of the fish and game code to the project applicant, Robb Courtney, County of Santa Clara, Department of Parks and Recreation.
