Title: General Plan & Zoning Code Update
Description: The proposed project consists of the review and update of the 1992 Calipatria General Plan and Zoning Ordinance. The proposed planning area is within the Calipatria City Limits and includes surrounding land within the County of Imperial's Urban Overlay immediately outside the current City limits and the Calipatria State Prison site as well as the City's Wastewater Treatment Plant site. Total planning area encompasses approximately 7.32 square miles. The primary purpose of the update is to adequately plan for the anticipated growth within the Calipatria Community and surrounding unincorporated area of Imperial County with the purpose of allocating specific areas for development that will result in the least impact to the environment and existing resources.
