Title
Recycled Water Pump, Pipeline and Spray Field - Quartz Reservoir and Private Ranch
Description
The Tuolumne Utilities District owns and operates the Regional Wastewater System and Quartz Reservoir, which stores treated wastewater from the Jamestown Sanitary District and TUD Wastewater Treatment Plants. Effluent from the Regional Sewer System is disinfected to a secondary level and currently use for irrigation of fodder crops and pasture and for stock water of non-dairy animals, all of which is under permit from the California Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB). Historically, T.U.D. has contracted with ranch owners for the use of recycled water for irrigation on more than 30 properties above and below Quartz Reservoir. This project will add additional land disposal area for recycled water to be used for irrigation. The availability of this land is important during "wet" years in order to empty Quartz Reservoir prior the next winter. Construction is expected to take approximately eight weeks and is anticipated to start during the spring reason of 2013 and be completed by the end of summer.
