Title
Former Hollister Manufactured Gas Plant - Feasibility Study/Remedial Action Plan
Description
DTSC is considering approval of a Feasibility Study/Remedial Action Plan (FS/RAP) for the former Hollister Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) Site (hereafter "the Site") pursuant to Health & Safety Code, Division 20, Chapter 6.8 as submitted in January 2013 by AMEC Environment & Infrastructure, Inc. on behalf of Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E). The proposed remedy, hereafter referred to as "the proposed project", includes soil removal to address soil contaminants at the Site, including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), arsenic, lead, pentachlorophenol, and gasoline-related volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Remedial activities at the Site are to be performed by PG&E and are expected to begin in the summer 2013. The proposed project includes soil removal within the PG&E property (currently used as the PG&E Service Center) and along two sidewalks immediately adjacent to the PG&E property. The excavated soil will be transported offsite for disposal at appropriate permitted landfill facilities.
