Watmaugh Road Bridge Replacement Project

Description

The purpose of the project is to provide a road crossing over Sonoma Creek that meets modern design standards and accommodates local and regional transportation needs. The existing pony truss bridge was constructed in 1929 and is approach the end of its service life. The proposed project would demolish the existing structure but retain the original trusses to be added to the new structure. A new concrete box girder or slab bridge would be constructed in approximatley the original alignment and the original trusses would be fixed to the new bridge as a non-structural element.
