Title: Soapmine Road Area Nitrate Remediation Project
Description: The project seeks to remove nitrate contamination from groundwater in the Mojave River Basin in the vicinity of the Barstow Wastewater Treatment Facility pursuant to the City of Barstow Cleanup and Abatement Order No. R6V-201300045A1). The Project includes 6 new extraction wells, below ground pumps, and 1,575 feet of 8 inch PVC pipeline to treat approx. 1,400,000 gallons of contaminated water day. The Energy Commission's approved EPC-15-092 is a grant to fund installation of a biofiltration system within the Project. The activities funded by the Energy Commission's grant are within the activities evaluated by the Negative Declaration.
