- CDGS, Real Estate Services Division proposes to install a solar power generation facility for the CA State Prison Los Angeles County (LAC State Prison). The site for the proposed solar power generation facility is located at the northeast corner of the LAC State Prison property. A security fence would be installed around the solar panels. The chain link fence would be a minimum of 8 feet high, with three strands of barbed wire on top, resulting in a maximum height of 10 feet. The solar panels would be mounted on a single-axis tracking system, which would pivot the panels from east to west to follow the sun's movement across the sky. The solar power generation facility would produce an output of 2 megawatts (MW) alternating current (AC), which would then be used by the LAC State Prison.
