Sutter Extension Water District 2012 Water District Program

Description

The Sutter Extension Water District (District) proposes to sell up to 3,933 acre-feet (af) of water to the participating member districts of the State Water Contracts Incorporated (Buyers) during the 2012 irrigation season. The District proposes to make water available through groundwater substitution within the boundaries of the District. Buyers are seeking up to approximately 85,000 of transfer water from various willing sellers in the Sacramento Valley during the 2012 irrigation season. Purchasing the water would lessen potential water supply shortages to these Buyers that may occur as a result of dry hydrologic conditions and regulatory restrictions on pumping in the Delta.
