- Coronel Apartment Project
- On May 19, 2016, the Director of the LA Department of City Planning approved a Modified Project Permit Compliance Review for the previously approved Coronel Apartments Project located on a project site that is comprised of three lots that contain 32,540 sq. ft. of lot area (the "Modified Project"); two (2) lots are located along Serrano Avenue (1600-1608 N. Serrano Ave.) and one lot is located on Hobart Blvd. (1601-1605 N. Hobart Blvd). The Modified Project proposes the demolition of three (3) existing two-story apartments buildings and two existing one-story bungalow structures and the relocation of one two-story apartment building fronting onto the Serrano Ave. portion of the Project Site. The two story apartment building is a triplex that will be converted into a duplex. The Modified Project also involves the construction of a new 52-unit multi-family residential building with a maximum height of 45 feet. At the ground level and above, the 52-unit Modified Project is designed to appear as two separate residential buildings, which will be connected at a subterranean level through a shared subterranean parking structure containing approx. 56 parking stalls. The Modified Project would also provide approx. 7,351 sq. ft. of open space, as well as new trees and landscaping. All of the proposed units would be reserved as affordable housing units excluding one (1) unrestricted manager's unit.
