Cajalco Road Widening and Safety Enhancement Project

Description

Draft Environmental Impact Report/Environmental Impact Statement with Section 4(f) The Riverside County Transportation Department (County), in cooperation with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), is proposing to widen approximately 15.7 miles of Cajalco Road, or a combination of Cajalco Road and El Sobrante Road, between Temescal Canyon Road to the west and Interstate 215 (I-215) to the east, in Riverside County. Between Temescal Canyon Bridge and Harvill Avenue, the project would widen the existing two-lane roadway to four lanes, and between Temescal Canyon Road and Temescal Canyon Bridge, and Harvill Avenue and the I-215 southbound ramps, the project would widen the existing four-lane roadway to six lanes. The project would improve east-west mobility and would provide increased capacity and improved traffic flow and safety. Intersection and drainage improvements, and wildlife crossings, are also proposed.
