Yolo Flyway Farms Restoration Project

Description

The Yolo Flyway Farms Project will create todal habitat on a 359-acre parcel in the Yolo Bypass. The project wll create tidal channels and a wetland branch fed by tidal waters of the Toe Drain. Wetland creation will be achieved by excavating channels, removing irrigation berms, and breaching the Toe Drain levee. The project will result in impacts to 440 acres of giant garter snake habitat as well as 2.44 acres of Delta smelt and longfin smelt habitat including temporary impacts to 440 acres; the Project will permanently remove 0 acres of the covered species habitat. The project is expected to result in inicidental take of Delta smelt, which is designated as a endangered species and giant garter snake and longfin smelt which are designated as a threatened species under CESA. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of project implementation.
