NOTE: Supplemental Notice. The Morongo Indian Reservation is comprised of a checkerboard of land parcels in Riverside County. To enhance its sovereignty interests and governmental ability to protect and promote the health, safety, and welfare of its members and Reservation residents, Ms. Soza wishes to bring the property back into trust status for the purpose of consolidation, cultural preservation, and placing the land into trust status will protect its unique Indian status and insure its integration back into the larger Reservation land base. Furthermore, the Morongo Indian Reservation is severely checker boarded and it is the goal of the Morongo Tribal Council to eliminate as much of the checker boarding as possible.
