Title
Boy Scouts of America's Seasonal Reservoir on the Noyo River Mendocino County, California
Description
The project involves two encroachments. The first encroachment is to continue operation of a seasonal reservoir used for summer recreation on the Noyo River. On or after June 01 of each year, a 68 foot long and 4.5 foot tall temporary wooden flashboard dam is installed resulting in a 9.2 acre foot reservoir. A CDFW-approved fish ladder is installed annually at the dam's overflow to aide in migration of juvenile salmon and steelhead. The reservoir is drained and the dam is removed by September 15 of each year. Installation and removal of the dam is completed without heavy equipment in the active stream channel. No water is diverted from the Noyo River. The second encroachment is a water diversion on a class II watercourse. The water is the sole source of drinking and other domestic water uses for the Camp Noyo, LLC summer camp. A total of 0.1 acre feet of water is diverted annually from a screened intake pipe within the watercourse.
