Title
Martin Luther King, Jr. Medical Center Campus Redevelopment
Description
The proposed project would be implemented in two phases, or tiers. Tier 1 of the proposed project would entail the development of two new buildings: the new Multi-service Ambulatory Care Center (MACC) and the Ancillary Building, tenant improvements, and potential relocation of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Building. Tier ll of the proposed project would entail the reuse or replacement of the existing MACC Building (which will be vacant following construction of the new MACC Building in Tier l), and demolition of the following Emergency Room; Storage Building; and Cooling Towers. Tier ll construction would entail additional master-planned mixed-use development, which may include the potential for medical offices, general offices, commercial and retail space, residential units, recreational areas, and other development in support of the campus. The maximum programmed development for Tier ll is currently estimated at approximately 1,814,696sf. The proposed project will include the reuse, replacement, or removal of approximately 509,018sf and net new development of approximately 1,476,010sf, providing an opportunity to develop up to 1,814,696sf for a mix of uses, including space for medical offices, commercial, retail, residential recreation, and general offices, in addition to any other development that will improve the community-based health program facility.
