Description
DPR is developing the CIHC General Plan to define and evaluate proposed land uses, facilities, concessions, management and operation of the unit, which will become a new State Park, and any environmrntal effects associated with implementing the General Plan. The General Plan will serve as the guide for future development, management and operation of the CIHC located on the 43-acre East Riverfront Property and 7.91-acre former JTS (Regatta at the Rivers) property in the City of West Sacramento. The project is a General Plan prepared to enable the development of a cultural facility honoring the past, present, and future of California Indian people and their cultures. The facility will be integrated with the natural landscape and location at the confluence of two major rivers. The facility is expected to include a library, archives, tribal treasure exhibit space, resident artist space, offices, classrooms, a cafe, and a museum store. The grounds will also include an amphitheatre and event space, indigenouse gardens, trails, public access to the Sacramento River, and vehicle parking.
