Rose Creek Watershed Invasive Plant Control Program
Description
DFG is intending to execute a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code (SAA#1600-2012-0137-R5) to the project applicant, The Chapparral Lands Conservancy. The applicant proposes to remove non-native plants within the Rose Creek Watershed, according to the Exotic Removal Plan. The project involves targeting giant reed, tamarisk, pampas grass, jubata grass, fennel, Brazilian pepper tree, eucalyptus, ice plant, cape ivy, shamel ash, acacia, myoporum, olive, artichoke thistle, and palms that occur within the stream. Other invasive species encountered while treating these targeted plants will be removed, as well. Control will be conducted using hand methods; no mechanized or soil disturbing equipment use is proposed.
