Agreement No. 2009-0072-R4- Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Sand Bar Dam Leakage Mitigation

Description

To resolve leakage levels at the Sandbar Dam, rock and gravel will be placed in an eroded trough area behind the dam. Approximately 25 to 40 cubic yards of rock and gravel will be placed using a helicopter. Four (4) geotechnical borings will be completed through the channel deposits to determine the depth to bedrock, and subsurface borings will be completed. The borings will be drilled from a floating platform or barge. The borings will be backfilled with dry bentonite pellets or chips once the boring has reached the specified depth; the bentonite will be hydrated in place by forebay water to complete the drilling activities at each location. Disturbed bank areas will be graded and revegetated following the work.
