Note: Review per lead The proposed project would serve the following purposes: 1) restore the channel that is subject to continual shoaling to design depths; 2) assure the continued navigation for marine traffic within the harbor; and 3) provide beach nourishment material for downcast beaches severely eroded by littoral processes. The primary benefits realized from the proposed project would be restoration of design depths and unimpeded navigation within the Federal Channel. Secondary benefits include the replenishment of the beach with placement of dredged material in the near shore to ensure that a pleasant shoreline environment is maintained for the public.
