Description

The Golden Gate Park Equestrian Center project would involve the rehabilitation of the Golden Gate Park stables, demolition of the grandstand and ancillary structures, construction of additional stables, and expansion of the existing arena. The City and County of San Francisco Recreation and Park Department is the owner and operator of the site. The goal of the proposed project is to bring the historic activity of horseback riding to Golden Gate Park. Before the stables were closed in 2001, Golden Gate Park was one of the last urban parks in the country to offer horseback riding to the public.
