Title: City of Palm Springs General Plan Update
Description: The proposed project is an update to the City of Palm Springs General Plan. This update involves a revision to the land use map and a revision to elements required by the State of California as well as optional elements. The General Plan contains seven state-mandated elements including: Land Use, Housing, Circulation, Safety, Noise, and Recreation, Open Space and Conservation. Since opportunities for redevelopment and reinvestment into the community are a prominent issue for the City, economic development and improved community quality are a considerable focus of the updated General Plan and its policies. As a result, two additional elements were included in the General Plan to provide additional direction for the City's future: the Community Design Element and Air Quality Element.
