Lichau Creek Channel Maintenance Project

Description

The SSCRCD proposes to selectively (using hand tools) remove trees (mainly young Arroyo willows) that impede the flow of water in the main channel of the creek. Removal of woody vegetation will not extend farther than 15 feet beyond the top of the left or right bank. The proposed vegetation maintenance will consist of selective removal, pruning and trimming of low branches and brush in the main channel to enhance conveyance of floodwaters. The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2005-0346-3 pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project operator, J. Leandra Swent / Southern Sonoma County Resource Conservation District.
