Description

Quikrete Companies has applied for a Conditional Use Permit to construct a 95,890 square foot pre-mixed concrete packaging facility and concrete block plant in multiple phases on 14 acres of a 20-acre site to operate on a 24-hour schedule. Facilities will include 4,800 square feet of office and shop area, 66,000 square feet of warehouse, 5,400 square feet of buildings for the ready mixed concrete bagging and 18,000 square feet of block plant and kiln. The project will include site improvements, roadway improvements on Palmdale Boulevard and construction of sewer and gas lines in Palmdale Boulevard. An on-site water well is proposed for domestic and manufacturing water use and fire suppression systems. The project will be constructed in two phases and will employ approximately 60 persons. Aggregate will be trucked in from existing aggregate mining operations in the vicinity. No mining is proposed on site.
