"Protect Oakland," the Updated Safety Element of the Oakland General Plan (Case No. GP04-0418)

Description

On June 19, 2012, the City approved the Oakland Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP) for the years 2010-2015. The Plan contains over 300 policies and actions which the City is currently taking, or is considering taking, to prepare and reduce the effects of natural disasters on the City, and its residents. A CEQA addendum was prepared for this action, reviewing the 2004 Mitigated Negative Declaration prepared for the Safety Element and other Elements of the Oakland General Plan, to the actions and policies of the Hazard Mitigation Plan, and, as discussed below, the Addendum demonstrated no need for further environmental review.
