Title: Washington Street Bike Path
Description: This proposal consists of construction of a Class 1 bike path that will be paved with asphalt over base rock. An opening, separating from the existing electronic gate, is proposed to allow bicycles and pedestrians to pass through. The bridge crossings at the storm drain culvert and at Simmons Canyon Creek wil be modified to ensure bicycle safety to include improved bridge surfaces and railings. Additionally, a short length of fencing will be added along the channels on both sides of both bridges. It is possible that fencing will be installed along the Southern Pacific Railroad section on the opposite side of the bike path to prevent bicyclists from entering onto private property.
