Title
Historic Restoration of Casa Grande
Description
The project involves the restoration of the structure known as the Casa Grande to a period of historic significance as identified in a Historic Structures Report prepared in March 2000. The structure, built around 1854, is the flagship building of the New Almaden National Historic Landmark District. The restoration report recommends removal of the addition known as the "Opry House" constructed initially as a dance floor in 1931, later enclosed in 1934, and substantially remodeled in the 1970s. This addition was closed in 2000 due to numerous building and fire code violations.
