Title: Highlands Sewer Connection
Description: The proposed project is located at San Jose Creek where it crosses under State Route 1 near Monastery Beach and would install a four-inch sanitary sewer force main pipeline under San Jose Creek using horizontal directional drilling (HDD) methodology. The entry and exit points for the HDD operation would be located approximately 250 feet north and south of the creek. The pipeline would be placed approximately 30 feet below the highway road grade at the creek. Bentonite or other similar drilling lubricants would be used to facilitate the bore equipment. No riparian vegetation would be disturbed at this site. The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2004-0274-3 pusuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project operator, Mr. Sanford Veile/Carmel Area Wastewater District.
