Description: The proposed project is a residential development on approximately 378,720 gross square feet (gsf) consisting of 250 dwelling units and about 250 underground parking spaces. The existing two-story building on the site, the Hjul Building, contains a total of approximately 46,500 square feet, and would be demolished. The Hjul Building at 355-375 Fremont Street is listed in four local surveys containing buildings that could be considered historic resources. The site would be excavated for the foundation, the five-level below-grade parking garage, and the 300-foot-high residential tower. The project site is located about mid-block on the eastern side of Fremont Street in the block bounded by Folsom, Fremont, Harrison, and Beale Streets. Vehicular access to the parking garage would be from Fremont Street on the northern side of the building.
