Title
Pulgas Ridge Trail Construction Project
Description
The project is located at the Pulgas Open Space Preserve northeast of the intersection of Highway 280 and Edgewood Road in unincorporated San Mateo County and involves the installation of three small 18-inch to 24-inch diameter culverts and three rock ford stream crossings within ephemeral drainages to Cordilleras Creek. The installation of the culverts and rock ford stream crossings are for the construction of the "Ridgetop" trail that is 4-feet wide and approximately 2.4 miles in length. The proposed trail extends from the northwestern end of the existing Hassler Trail, near the Highway 280 Vista Point, extending to Polly Geraci Trail at the bottom of Cordilleras Creek. The trail will be designed and constructed using a small bulldozer and mini-excavator. The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2005-0407-3 pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project operator, L. Craig Britton of the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District.
